Sokkia MS27 Mirror StereoscopeMS27 Mirror Stereoscope This fine Sokkia instrument is unmatched for precision and ease of use in viewing and interpreting aerial photographs. Elevations are seen with startling clarity in three dimensions; and the instrument can be used for long periods of time without eye strain.

The distance between centers of stereo pairs (optical path) is 27cm and the field of view is 18 x 24cm for viewing 24 x 24cm photographs. The 3x binoculars supplied as standard equipment provide a bright, distortion-free optical system. 8x eyepieces are also available.

A convenient feature of the Sokkia MS27 Mirror Stereoscope with the 3x binoculars is the ease of adjustment for varying inter-pupillary distances; there is no need to re- orient photographs. This is an important asset when a number of persons are viewing the same photographs.

Use the LA3 Illumination Unit/Stereometer Parallax Measuring Bar to accurately measure heights of buildings, mountains and all other landmarks appearing on aerial photographs. Readings are easy and accurate with the dial indicator. Three color-coded targets on the glass plates make the MS27 easy to use.

The TRA2 Track Attachment permits work to be carried out over a much wider area and is particularly useful when working with multiple or continuous photographs, since the whole area of the photographs can be examined without interruption. In addition, the Track Attachment permits the instrument to be used to draw contours and to function as a sketchmaster for making maps from photographs by means of parallel translation.

The Track Attachment allows the simultaneous displacement of stereoscope and stereometer parallax measuring bar both vertically and laterally. The Track Attachment cannot be used in combination with the LA3 Illumination Unit.
